The 30th of March 1964 Manfred Müller and Paul-Ernst Lührs left Bremerhaven in a 1963 Citroen 2 CV with 160 DM in their pockets, to see the world. Their trip would took a little longer as they played music in many parts of the Globe to earn their living. They finished the journey 20 years later after having traveled through 83 countries, 5 continents covering 350,000 Km, in April 1984.The trip took them through Europe, Asia, Australia, America and Africa. Since they had no sponsorship of any kind , they used their singing talents to generate income to continue the journey. From India, they moved on to Singapore, then north to Bangkok and Laos. Despite warnings from friends and well-wishers not to go, they none the less made the trip along the Mekong and into Cambodia before returning to Thailand . They, infact , encoutered many difficulties and dangerous situations during the journey and later admitted that they should have listened to the advice !
